Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, and several towns in northern Hunterdon County have set their plans. Hours differ from town to town, so check yours before heading out.
In Clinton, trick-or-treating runs from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, October 31, as usual, the town said. Bloomsbury's fall newsletter lists trick-or-treating from 5 to 7.
Hampton starts early. The Hampton Fire Company's Halloween parade steps off at 1:00 PM, rain or shine, from the corner of Main Street and West Railroad Avenue and ends at the borough park with costume judging. Trick-or-treating follows the parade and runs until 6:00 PM.
Califon has a full day planned. The Candy Crawl Kickoff runs from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in Califon Commons Park, with live music, pumpkin painting, a food truck and games. Trick-or-treating runs from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and the Califon Fire Company parade follows at 7:00 PM.
Union Township lists trick-or-treat hours from noon to 9:00 PM. The township's juvenile curfew runs from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM on both Friday and Saturday nights, and parents and guardians share responsibility for following it.
We could not find posted 2026 hours for Clinton Township, Lebanon Borough, Lebanon Township, Glen Gardner, High Bridge, Bethlehem Township, Tewksbury Township or Readington Township as of Friday. Residents there should check with the municipal office or local police.
Two events look back at local history. The Squiers Point Historians host storyteller Gina Sampaio at Mt. Lebanon Church, 97 Mt. Lebanon Road, Glen Gardner, on Friday, October 30, at 7:00 PM and 8:30 PM. Tickets are $30, with proceeds supporting the church and the historians. A Graveyard Tour at the same church on Sunday, November 1, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, offered with Hunterdon County Library, is full, with a waiting list open at the library's website.
In High Bridge, voting in the Haunted High Bridge House Decorating Contest runs through Sunday at participating homes, with winners named Monday. Scarecrows stay up along Main Street through November 4.
Several of the area's bigger Halloween events have already finished for the season, including Clinton's All Hallows on the River and the Haunted Red Mill.
