This is a very nice place for dinner and a show. Excellent service! Very well organized and the layout is nice. You should definitely check out the Motown review! Update.....since my last review I've seen The Michael Jackson show and today I saw the Tina Turner show. Both shows were fun!
Lovely venue! The staff is kind and friendly and the location is quite beautiful. There is a gazebo and many great locations for photo opportunities. The venue also has a nice location for a cocktail hour and a great venue for seating as well as a pretty sizable dance floor. The layout of the venue is also nice and can be decorated depending on the theme of an event. A great place to host an event! (The pictures were taken during a rainy week so disregard the color of the lake as well as the dreariness of the photos)
Pleasant, different kind of entertainment. The food was good but the timing was off. Received bread and wine/drinks while we were having dessert. Entertainment was decent not great. Some sound issues. It was a day out and a contagious happy feeling. Enjoyed
A friend recommended this venue to me after going with a group to a show. So…My husband and I went to the “lunch” Christmas at the Playhouse on a weekday. Everything seemed to run like clockwork as far as timing. All the employees encountered were welcoming, professional and helpful. The venue was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The food was decent (my husband thought the cod was dry) but did I mention the dessert bar with mini pastries? Yum! While my Diet Coke tasted off (maybe flat?), that is the only thing I could fault. You are served a small salad, bread basket, entree/potato/veg and unlimited coffee/tea/water (and desserts). These are included in the dinner show price. Bar drinks and sodas are extra. Note: If you only go for the show (no food), the tix price is significantly less. Our server Nenona was terrific! She checked on us frequently for anything we might need. The orchestra and cast were very talented, singing, dancing, acting out a story. There were Christmas hymns at the end (with large screen showing lyrics should you want to sing along). I definitely plan to go back for other shows in the future. (P.S. we’ve been to the Dutch Apple Dinner Theater in Lancaster and found the HHP much more spacious as far as table proximity etc)
My wife and I went as a birthday gift to me! We saw The Return of Sherlock Holmes. The dinner show was really good and the food wasn't bad. I had salmon, veggies and a baked potato. My wife had the chicken parm with veggies. She said the parm had no cheese and not enough sauce but it still tasted good. Had a small desert plate with canolis, cream puff and chocolate covered strawberry. Coffee of course. The young lady serving was very nice. The playhouse looks great. We had a nice night out.
