EXCELLENT experience, this was a great course. I was very impressed with Heron Glen. Even though the greens had recently been aerated, they rolled surprisingly well and the effects were barely noticeable. The staff went the extra mile by providing players with a complimentary to-go lunch, soda, and snack as a courtesy. Having drinking water available around the course was another appreciated touch, especially on a warm day. Combined with the course’s excellent conditions and enjoyable layout, Heron Glen is a fantastic public golf experience.

Really enjoyed my first round at Heron Glen. Awesome conditions, a very nice layout, and a course that’s more challenging than it looks on the card. The greens were a little on the slower side, but in a good way — tons of subtle break that made them surprisingly tough to read. The rough was no joke either. I played the Blues and thought they were significantly tougher than the rating would suggest. Course knowledge definitely matters here; I got fooled on a few tee shots my first time around. Great range for a warm-up, and the staff was extremely welcoming and professional. Excellent overall experience. Definitely coming back — and I’ll be a little smarter about where I hit it next time.

My first time playing on this exceptionally beautiful course (even on a rainy day) I am looking forward to returning for another round. If it was this good in the drizzle, can only imagine a sunny day

I played a morning round with my buddy as a birthday treat for me and we were not happy. We called to book the tee time and not once was it mentioned that aeration was scheduled to occur on the day we played. We were asked to pay the full rate of 75 dollars each for a Monday morning and had to play the same holes twice in a row because the front nine was being aerated. Because of this, the backup was insane when we got back to the start of hole 10. I didn’t mind the waiting as much as I normally would have because it was nice to just have time to talk with my buddy. However, this waiting allowed me to notice the conditions of the course even more than I would have. The tee boxes looked bad, mowed but unmaintained. Many of them were soaking wet and just nasty to hit tee shots from because of the saturation of the ground causing slipping. The fairways were dead in some spots and suffered from weeds and crabgrass. If you let areas die, crabgrass and weeds take its place. It was sad to see and the lack of empathy from the staff made me angry enough to post this review and these pictures.

In town on work so a buddy and I wanted to squeeze in a round. At first glance, we were incredibly impressed by the look of the course, and things only got better from there. Brandon in the pro shop was incredibly helpful, kind, and made this experience one worth talking about for a long time. The course was great, and every person we came in contact with, from the marshall to the cart crew, were very helpful and respectful. If I am ever in this area again, even within a few hour drive, I will make a special trip just to play here again. Amazing experience.
